INSTALLATION
The "Trimo Urban Crash - The Life Stand" was an architecture and design competition launched in 2010 by the company Trimo, challenging worldwide architecture students to design a public installation in Nove Fužine, a residential neighborhood in Ljubljana, using materials manufactured by Trimo. The objective was to revitalize this residential area and at the same time provide solutions to complex architectural issues common to many urban areas of Europe.

This project was developed in a group consisting of myself, Sérgio Melo and Miguel Carvalho, and the proposal we submitted for the contest was based on the idea of a hybrid between a fixed structure and a structure that could easily be manipulated and transformed according to the most common activities practiced in that area: gastronomic fair, sport events, art exhibitions and music concerts. The design consists of three modules: a central area, where services are located, and projecting from it two arms proposed as spaces for exhibitions.

The facades of these arms are formed by a set of movable and removable panels, easily manipulated by the users in order to reconfigure both the interior and also exterior space. On the outside, it was secured public stands and resting areas for the various sport events.
